DawnDawn Dyer is Ventura County’s Apartment expert.  As a California licensed Real Estate Broker with twenty five years experience in real estate analysis, investment, and development in the Southern California market, she has represented corporate, institutional, and private clients in the acquisition, disposition, and development of thousands of apartment units. 

Dawn specializes in conducting detailed market research and feasibility studies for property owners, developers, and public agencies; as well as other customized studies to address specific real estate investment and development issues.  Under her direction, Dyer Sheehan Group performs a semi-annual survey and analysis of the multi-family housing market,which is published by the UCSB-Economic Forecast Project, and the California Economic Forecast Project, and included in the Housing Elements of the General Plans for several local jurisdictions.  This broad base of multi-family expertise makes Dawn uniquely qualified to assist her clients in optimizing their real estate investment strategy and portfolios.

Ms. Dyer has a successful track record of facilitating the entitlement of new residential and mixed-use developments.  She has demonstrated a strong ability to successfully interact with governmental agencies, as well as diverse community groups and organizations, to facilitate open and productive dialog on complex land use issues.

Dawn is very active as a community volunteer, working with numerous groups and organizations. She is a member, and former Chair of the Board of Directors of the University of California Santa Barbara - Economic Forecast Project, and serves on the Economic and Environmental Policy Leadership Committee for VCEDA (Ventura County Economic Development Association).  Ms. Dyer is also a member, and former Chair of the Board of Advisors of HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Easier), a 501c3 non-profit organization which promotes the creation of a diversity in housing options. 

Ms. Dyer provides expert witness testimony on real estate issues, and is a frequent guest speaker on real estate investment and development topics at a variety of conferences, including the Building Industry Association’s annual PCBC and BIS events; and the annual Ventura County Housing Conference.  She has been a guest lecturer for courses taught at UCLA and California Lutheran University.  Dawn authors a monthly article for the “Apartment Age” magazine, an official publication of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles & Ventura County.
